For 25 pound get the mx500 as it's just a better drive. The only time I'd say go for a dramless ssd is if there is an actual big difference in price. Answer (1 of 3): For sata ssds they are usually not worth it as they don't lower costs that much and are usually much slower. But I have an nvme dramless ssd and apparently since nvme has less overhead its not as reliant on dram and the wd blue sn550 uses nvme 1.4 which also helps mitigate the la.
